About Us
Bleckly Clarke Lodge meets in the historic market town of Blandford Forum within the heart of Dorset. The Lodge is relatively new in the context of Freemasonry, having been formed in 1969, but has its own distinct traditions which it is keen to maintain.

Like the town in which it meets, the Lodge typically has some former members of the Armed Forces amongst its numbers but the majority of members are civilians and from a variety of backgrounds. Current members include civil servants, tradesmen, professionals and local business owners. Members enjoy a wide variety of hobbies and interests outside of the Lodge including golf, shooting, fishing, rugby and cycling.

The age range of the membership is broad with individuals in their 20s through to their 80s. All members mix well with mutual respect and trust but as little hierarchy as possible. There is a strong team spirit and many firm friendships are formed between members.

The Lodge has been in excellent health in recent years with a constant flow of initiates and also many joining members.

The members are keen to deliver the highest standards of ritual for the benefit of candidates but also to maintain a friendly atmosphere in which the members have fun and support each other. The key requirements are a sense of humour, a lack of ego, a willingness to attend meetings and otherwise to support the work and social aspects of the Lodge.

Several social events are held each year, including events at which family and friends are welcome. Typically these include a formal annual dinner with partners as well as skittles nights and day trips.

Historically the festive board has always provided good food and a very convivial atmosphere which is appreciated by the many visitors who attend. Themes are often employed to add colour to the evenings and the Christmas entertainment is a highlight of the year.
